The One Bear Art Army!
The practice.
Flying Förtress is a German graffiti artist, illustrator and character designer whose Teddy Troops have become a distinctive presence in contemporary street art. He began painting graffiti in Munich in 1989, initially working with lettering before developing a graphic language informed by illustration, design and comics. Around the early 2000s, the Teddy Trooper emerged as a recognizable character that could travel beyond the street into prints, original paintings and collectible objects. Vinyl Teddy Troops appeared in 2004. Based in Hamburg, Flying Förtress is associated with the Jukebox Cowboys and has maintained an international practice through murals, exhibitions and collaborations. His creative relationships with Rebelzer and Lunar connect the German graffiti scene with the wider community represented in Bremen.
